In the right hands, hair jigs are an amazing bait that will catch just about anything that swims. I have been making and fishing hair jigs for 35 years, and can state as fact, that when bass are relating to mainlake ledges, creek channels and points, and feeding on shad, a hair jig might be the best bait ever made. I primarily limit my hair jig fishing to Summer & Winter when the bass stack up on structure. During these times its not uncommon to literally get bit on every cast. Largemouth, Smallmouth and spotted bass will attack a properly presented hair jig with reckless abandon, as will stripers. Hair is different in the water because it breathes and ungulates, it looks alive and the bass cant stand it.

Joe's Hair Jigs are made on a special designed tapered head that is well balanced and allows us to add large oversized eyes. We build these beautiful jigs on a 4 ot wide gap, black nickel ultra-point hook, very sharp and very strong. We use only the finest whitetail deer hair on these jigs because it gives the bait the proper action in the water. This is a larger jig, about 6" in length. Once the jig is complete, we add two coats of Diamond clear hardner/sealer to seal the thread and Pro Tec paint for better durability. We also tie in matching Mylar flash which adds another level of realism to the bait. The end result is one beautiful rock hard jig that hammers bass.
