Joe's living rubber football jig: 1/2 oz. Green Pumpkin.

US$7.00

My goal in making this jig was simply to make the finest football jig on the market, no easy task. I felt that having a wide tapered head design was paramount because it does not get hung up as much and you can feel the bait working much better on a hard bottom.

I also wanted to use a head design that incorporated a recessed line tie to protect the knot. Most importantly regarding the head design was having the perfect jig hook, I wanted a wide gap, ultra sharp, strong, medium wire hook. By using a super sharp, medium wire hook, opposed to using a thick, heavy wire hook, it's so much easier to get a solid hook set on fish setting in deeper water, and it's also harder for the fish to throw the jig.

I also felt it was crucial to utilize a softer, medium flex weed guard, which will reduce hang ups and increase hook ups. The jig head itself has multiple coats of baked on paint for durability. In my mind, the final step in making the perfect living rubber jig was to use only the finest living rubber skirt material available. We use only round living rubber, cut fine, which flows naturally in the water, and it looks and feels like something alive, and the color options are outstanding. We are selling this amazing jig in 4 custom colors, in both 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz. sizes. Each jig comes complete with a scented, color matched twin tail trailer.

Pro Tip: Living rubber jigs were designed to get quality bites in cold water, and these excel in that regard. In cold water, rubber rules, in warm water, silicone skirts are a better option in my opinion. When fishing these jigs, slowly drag them on the bottom, with brief pauses.

I prefer using a 7'3" medium/heavy action rod, with a soft tip, and I prefer fishing these jigs on 12- or 16-pound Gamma fluorocarbon line.

Please note: Do not leave living rubber jigs in tackle boxes in hot water, the rubber will stick together and destroy the jig.
